IFDS

Promoting Sailing for People with Disabilities Worldwide, IFDS is responsible for disabled sailing around the world, and working with its members to further promote and support the sport.

In the interests of further developing disabled sailing the ISAF, in November 2000, gave authority to the International Foundation for Disabled Sailing (IFDS) to be responsible for disabled sailing. This includes sailing for people with physically disabilities, blindness, deafness, and learning difficulties and covers all aspects of sailing including recreation, training, and racing.

The ISAF and IFDS will work in close partnership and in the interests of co-ordination and shared resources from April 2001, the IFDS Secretariat has been based within the ISAF Secretariat at Ariadne House in Southampton.
